Learnership – Junior Field Sales Representative

A learnership is a work-based learning programme that leads to an NQF registered qualification.
Learnerships are directly related to an occupation or field of work, for example, sales, customer relationships, marketing. Learnerships are managed by Sector Education and Training Authorities
(SETAs).

1. Learnership offer

Due the high demand for practical experience within the Biotechnology field, we are committed to equip and prepare qualified Biological Science individuals for the future ahead. BIOCOM Africa is offering learnerships during the period of 2022 to 2023 (12-month duration).

Regions:

1x KZN,

1x Cape Town,

2x Johannesburg.

The successful learner will be enrolled for a SETA accredited learnership to the value of R 110 000
(One Hundred and Ten Thousand), comprised as follows:

1. Learnership costs for the NQF qualification;
2. Monthly allowance payable to the Learner for the period of the learnership.

The learnership programme available:

49280 National Certificate: Wholesale & Retail Distribution

2. Requirements

  • Valid Matric certification,
  • Be a South African citizen,
  • Between 18 and 35 years,
  • Positive, hardworking and unemployed,
  • Computer literacy,
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English (read, write and speak),
  • Degree in Biological Science,
  • Own a vehicle.

3. Learnership employment

The learner will be employed at Biocom Africa on a fixed term employment contract for 12-month period.

Renumeration:

  • R 5 500 (Five Thousand Five Hundred Rand) per month minus statutory deductions of UIF (and

Income Tax if tax threshold is exceeded).

  • Reimbursement for fuel expenses as per company policy.
  • Commission on sales (50% of profit made) on assigned supplier.

Learners will be responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the workplace or

Customers. No additional travel (except fuel claims) or accommodation allowances will be provided.

4. Learnership description:

A Learnership has two components:

1. Theoretical: Learners will be registered with a SETA Service Provider for theoretical learning and assessments. This is distance learning and modules for successful completion of the learnership will be guided by the Service Provider.

2. Practical: The workplace provides the learner with continuous practical experience associated with elected learnership program, and field work.

Experience:

  • Theoretical training in applications (antibodies, ELISA, Western blot, Flow

Cytometry etc.

  • Practical skills training: o Excel o Quote generation o Communication with customers o Data input to databases (customer and product information) o Sales and marketing.

Learnership modules should therefore be done outside office hours and on the learner’s own time

(i.e. after work hours and weekends).

5. Job Description (including but not limited to):

Learnership and all duties related thereto;

  • Practical skills training,
  • Excel,
  • Quote generation,
  • Communication with customers,
  • Data input to databases (customer and product information),
  • Sales and marketing (The Learner will be assigned a potential Customer with the responsibility of growth of Biocom Services and products, as well as national responsibility on an assigned supplier)
