As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Millwright Apprenticeship x 4 (2 Internal & 2 External) within our Pies operating unit
- Employment/exposure/training in different sections of the factory during operations (approximately 29 weeks).
- The completion of each year’s training will be rounded off by a Mini Trade Test (phase test) which will determine the continued participation in the training program. A final Trade Test will lead to a National recognized qualification.
Minimum Requirements
- In order to be considered for selection, candidates need to be in possession of a Grade 12 with at least a N2 qualification or NCV level 3, N3 and above qualification will be an advantage.
- General Knowledge of conveyor belts, wire meshes modular belts, bearings, make use mechanical/ electrical tools.
- Knowledge and skill of operating production line
- Basic knowledge of fitting
- Ability to learn complex engineering drawings
- Repair failures on equipment’s to restore functionality of the equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance work including daily inspections on the machines, report and resolve any defects to ensure that equipment is kept in optimal conditions
- Carry out root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrence of failures
- Ensure job cards are completed timeously and all relevant information is captured
- Ensure all equipment is made safe before work is carried out and all safety equipment is functional at all times
- Grade 12
- N3 as a minimum. N4 to N6 would be preferred.
- Required N3 subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Industrial electronics
- Electrical trade theory/ Electrical technology / Electrotechnology
- Fitting and machining/ Mechanical Technology/ Mechanotechnology
- Proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme is essential.
- Sound knowledge and experience of Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to field of work
– Skills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain structural components of all equipment within area of responsibility.

- Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License
– Computer literacy – MS Office Suite
– Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime
– Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
