🎯 Key Purpose of the Role
The apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to:
Conduct mechanical maintenance, installations, and repairs.
Gain exposure to world-class manufacturing (WCM) practices.
Work under the guidance of experienced Millwrights and Engineering Mentors.
Contribute to efficient operations while building a strong foundation in fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement techniques.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics & Science.
N3 – N6 qualification with trade-related subjects.
Age: 18 – 35 years.
Employment Equity Preference: Females are strongly encouraged to apply.
🔧 Duties & Responsibilities
As an apprentice, you will:
Perform non-specialized maintenance under supervision.
Assist with fault-finding and repairs to optimize production output.
Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM) activities.
Support engineering strategies that drive efficiency and reduce breakdowns.
Apply Kaizen, Fishbone, and 5 Why methodologies for problem-solving.
Maintain safety and 5S standards in line with Unilever and RCL Foods policies.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects and WCM activities.
Learn to coach and transfer skills using SOPs and One-Point Lessons (OPLs).
