Free Image Resizer and Compressor

Resize, fit, crop and compress up to twenty JPEG, PNG or WebP files in your browser, then download individual outputs or a ZIP.

Quick answer

Fit preserves the whole image; fill covers the target and crops overflow. Aspect ratio is preserved by default and exported pixels are actually re-encoded.

Private batch processing

Resize and compress images locally

JPEG, PNG and WebP files are decoded and re-encoded in this browser. Choose up to 20 files.

Resize mode

Privacy: images are processed in your browser and are not intentionally uploaded. Re-encoding normally removes camera and location metadata.

Scope

Assumptions and limits

Browser encoders, colour profiles and format support vary. HEIC, SVG, animated images, RAW, TIFF and PDF are excluded from P0.

Results use the values you enter and the conventions described in the methodology below.

01

How aspect ratio works

When width changes, proportional height equals original height × new width ÷ original width.

02

Fit versus fill and crop

Fit uses the smaller scale so everything remains visible. Fill uses the larger scale and crops the excess from the centre.

03

Compression and formats

JPEG and WebP quality are lossy controls. PNG preserves transparency and does not use the same quality model.

04

Privacy and metadata

Images are processed locally. Re-encoding normally removes embedded camera and location metadata, but outputs should still be checked before sharing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are images uploaded?
No; processing uses browser image and canvas APIs.
Which formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG and WebP in P0.
How do I avoid stretching?
Use exact width, percentage or fit mode.
Can I process multiple images?
Yes, up to twenty.
Does compression reduce quality?
Lossy JPEG and WebP settings may.
Why can output be larger?
Format, dimensions, transparency and source compression all affect bytes.
