Job Description

This paid learnership opportunity provides structured, work-based learning that equips participants with commercial acumen and practical skills to service customers, grow volume, facilitate the order-taking process, and implement, execute, and monitor merchandising standards for direct and indirect customers within a designated geographical area.

This programme forms part of a career development programme, youth employment initiative, and corporate training programme designed to create long-term stable income jobs and wealth-building careers in the FMCG and retail industry.

The role reports to the Account Developer and forms part of a professional career development pathway in sales, marketing, and retail management.

Level of Interaction

The role interacts with:

• Sales Team Members: Collaboration on daily tasks and shared learning
• Sales Account Developer: Training, mentorship, performance guidance, and safety protocols
• Consumers: Understanding consumer behaviour to drive sales strategies and product development

Key Duties & Responsibilities

In-Store Execution & Merchandising Excellence

• Execute daily call schedules across assigned bronze and tin outlets
• Implement visual merchandising standards and in-store brand displays
• Ensure product quality, availability, and visibility
• Support customer order placement via the MyCCBA platform
• Assist with promotional activities for brand visibility
• Provide operational support as directed by management

This programme offers work integrated learning, job training programmes, and professional skills development funding for long-term career income growth.

Skills, Experience & Education

• Grade 12 with Maths or Maths Literacy (minimum pass rate 40%)
• Grade 12 communication with English and a second language (minimum pass rate 40%)
• South African Citizen
• Available to work six days a week
• Employment Equity candidate
• Age 18–35
• No criminal or adverse credit record
• Consent to criminal, ID, and qualification verification
• Driver’s Licence advantageous
• Not enrolled in any current learnership or full-time studies
• Must not have completed the same learnership previously
• Must be unemployed at the time of appointment
• Post-matric qualification in Sales & Marketing (advantageous)

General

This accredited learnership programme requires learners to obtain a minimum of 120 credits over a 12-month paid training programme. This forms part of SETA funded learnerships, skills development funding initiatives, and government-supported youth employment programmes.
