⚡ Position Overview: Industrial Electrician – Grain Handling & Agricultural Equipment
We’re hiring an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team in Douglas, Northern Cape. This pivotal role focuses on the installation, repair, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, particularly in grain storage and drying facilities. If you’re passionate about agriculture, electrical systems, and industrial innovation, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.
âś… Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on grain handling systems, motors, VSDs, PLCs, and control panels.
Diagnose electrical faults on conveyor belts, augers, dryers, and industrial silo machinery.
Handle high and low voltage systems, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Install and upgrade electrical wiring and infrastructure in compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain precise records of repairs, inspections, and service logs.
Assist in planning and executing large-scale electrical projects and upgrades.
Mentor junior electricians and ensure adherence to OHSA compliance in all operations.
Minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity through proactive maintenance.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
1.Matric / NQF Level 4.
2.Wireman’s License or Registered Installation Electrician certificate.
3.Trade Certification as an Electrician or Millwright.
4.Able To work in Groups
5.Proficient in PLC programming, VSDs, and electrical control systems.
6.Solid knowledge of high/low voltage systems and energy-efficient technologies.
7.Valid Code B Driver’s License.
8.Ability to work shifts, overtime, and handle breakdowns after-hours.
9.Clear criminal record.
10.Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
