Minopex, a trusted name in mining and plant operations, is looking for a skilled Boilermaker (Shift) to join our Northern Cape Plant Operations (Sedibeng) team in Postmasburg. This is a permanent position offering competitive benefits, growth opportunities, and a dynamic work environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a trade-tested Boilermaker with strong technical expertise to diagnose, fabricate, maintain, and repair mining plant equipment. You’ll work in a Dense Media Separation (DMS) Plant environment, ensuring that machinery runs smoothly and efficiently in compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.
Minimum Requirements
1.Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
2.Valid Section 13 Trade Test / Section 26(D) Certificate – Boilermaker
3.Valid driver’s license (Code B, EB, or C1) and own reliable transport for call-outs
4. 2+ years’ experience as a Boilermaker in a DMS Plant environment
5.CO2 welding proficiency
6.Ability to fabricate and install pipework of all sizes
7.Skilled in general fabrication work
8.Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
9.Knowledge of risk assessments and safety compliance
10.Advantageous: Experience operating Huckbolting machines or thread-cutting machines
11.Strong English communication and time management skills
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain plant equipment to OEM specifications and engineering best practices
Conduct daily machinery inspections in line with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements
Fabricate, modify, and install equipment for safe and efficient operations
Monitor equipment performance to identify efficiency improvements
Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and boost productivity
Ensure equipment safety and readiness after repairs or installations
Record maintenance activities in the planned maintenance system for compliance and tracking
