To start you will need to create a CIPC account for free which will also allow you to login onto the new BIZPORTAL website.

Customer account registration

On the CIPC website you can go and register as a customer under the customer registration tab, to complete this you need to submit the following:

  • A certified Identification document
  • Residential address
  • Postal address if not the same as residential.

Company Registration

For company registration, there are 2 options to choose from 

  1. Biz portal
  2. Cipc





The simplest platform to use is Bizportal. Now that you are a registered CIPC customer you can log on to start the company registration

  • log in to Bizportal
  • select company registration
  • Select company type [Private(Pty LTD),close coporation(cc) and NPC(non profit company)]
  • Enter director details, which will be verified against the Home affairs system to ensure its legitimate
  • Specify company details (address, type, etc)
  • Company name reservation ( submit at least 3 suggested names to choose from, the names will be checked to ensure that it is a unique name and upon submission one will be chosen.
  • if necessary you can also register for uif benefits
  • Now you can register for a BBBEE certificate to go with the managerial structure of the proposed company.
  • Now to complete the registration you will be required to pay a total of R175 
  • Once all is paid for you will receive confirmation of company registration documentation via email
  • If required you can register for a SARS tax clearance certificate at no extra cost
  • A business bank account can be opened via a request where the bank will call you bank.
