Scope
Assumptions and limits
Schools and institutions use different scales, rounding, weighting and repeated-course policies. Confirm the method used for official decisions.
Results use the values you enter and the conventions described in the methodology below. After calculating, review the result-specific assumptions and warnings shown with the estimate.

How to calculate a grade from points
Add included earned points and divide by included possible points. When dropping work, this tool compares percentages rather than raw point totals.
02
How weighted grades work
Weighted points toward the course equal the sum of score × weight. Current completed grade divides those points by completed weight, so it is not the same as points already secured toward the full course.
A 90% homework score at 30% weight contributes 27 course points.
03
Finding the final grade you need
Required remaining score = (target course grade − weighted points already earned) ÷ remaining weight. A requirement above the entered maximum is shown as impossible, not clamped.
04
Scales and institutional differences
Letter thresholds, rounding, repeated work, extra credit and dropped-assessment policies vary. The displayed A–F scale is an example, not a universal standard.
