π οΈ Job Purpose
Join the City of Tshwaneβs frontline sanitation team and make a real difference! As a General Worker, youβll assist with wastewater and sewer services, ensuring clean and safe living conditions in Region 6.
β Key Responsibilities
Clear sewer blockages using manual tools
Excavate and backfill trenches (shovel, pickaxe, rake, rammer)
Load/unload equipment and tools from plumberβs vehicle
Operate water pumping equipment
Assist in aligning and fitting water pipes
Maintain cleanliness of work area and vehicles
Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
Perform depot and vehicle cleaning duties
π Minimum Requirements
1.Basic literacy (read & write)
2.Physical fitness (must be able to lift heavy tools, dig trenches, and work outdoors)
3.Clean criminal record (fingerprinting required at personal cost)
4.Willing to work shifts, be on standby, and work overtime as needed
5.Advantageous: Previous experience with wastewater or general maintenance work
