About the Role:
AECI Water is seeking a proactive and dedicated Artisan Aide to support our maintenance and project teams in Pietermaritzburg. This full-time role is ideal for individuals passionate about technical support, safety, and hands-on work within the industrial water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist artisans to ensure efficient project and maintenance operations
Organize and prepare tools, equipment, and materials
Create and manage work orders using Maintenance Connection software
Participate in equipment maintenance and plant repairs
Safely handle and dispose of scrap and obsolete items
Maintain orderly storage of tools and spare parts in the workshop
Repair and maintain plant signage and yard areas
Assist in incident investigations and follow up
Comply with health and safety regulations throughout all tasks
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Matric (Grade 12)
NQF Level 2 Learnership or N2 Certificate in Mechanical field
At least 6 months of experience in a similar role
Basic computer skills
Competence in using both hand and power tools
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
Willingness to perform standby duties and overtime when necessary
