RCL Foods, through its Siqalo Foods Spreads Division, is offering 5 Millwright Apprenticeship positions for passionate, career-driven individuals. This 3-year structured apprenticeship program equips learners with the technical knowledge, hands-on training, and mechanical expertise needed to qualify as a professional Millwright.
As an apprentice, you will gain exposure to mechanical systems, plant maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and installations under the mentorship of experienced engineers. This program is designed to give you the foundation for a long-term engineering career in the food manufacturing industry.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science (compulsory)
N3 – N6 Engineering Qualification (with trade-related subjects)
Must be 18 – 35 years old
Employment Equity Preference: Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
Strong technical aptitude and passion for mechanical engineering
🔧 Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will:
Perform general and specialized maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant machinery
Participate in preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal production
Engage in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Use methodologies like Kaizen, Fishbone Analysis, and 5 Why Problem Solving to identify root causes of breakdowns
Assist in developing and implementing strategic engineering plans for operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) policies and Unilever’s 5S standards
Support and coach operational teams by creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & One Point Lessons (OPLs)
