Key Responsibilities
Asset Management: Inspect, repair, and maintain plant assets, equipment, and infrastructure to minimize downtime and production impact.
Collaboration: Daily liaising with plant personnel across different levels regarding equipment breakdowns, spare parts, and maintenance updates.
Hands-On Support: Deliver rapid, efficient support during equipment breakdowns and planned shutdowns.
Preventative Maintenance: Execute a proactive maintenance strategy on production and utility equipment to optimize performance.
Technical Evaluations: Perform comprehensive technical testing and diagnostics of plant equipment.
Health & Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Tronox’s specific SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) policies and procedures.
Operational Support: Assist in the operation and maintenance of the Co-Generation (CO Gen) Plant.
Investigations & Reporting: Conduct technical investigations, Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA), and defect identification with timely reporting to Supervisors.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
Flexibility: Perform additional reasonable tasks as required by supervisors related to the working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification & Experience
- Grade 12 Mathematics & Physical Science with a minimum E symbol or Technical N2 Mathematics & Science with a minimum E symbol.
- Minimum of a N2 Qualification with the following subjects:
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Fitting & Machining Trade Theory
- Electronics and / or Engineering drawings
- Certified Trade Test Qualification
- Valid code 08 (Code B) driver’s license
- 2 Years Post Trade Test experience and a sound knowledge of and experience in heavy industry environment.
Proven hands-on maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) module proficiency.
Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
Good working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
Technical qualification or relevant trade certificate will be advantageous.
