  1. Why This Role Matters

The Driver/Cleaner position is often underestimated, yet it is crucial in the automotive supply chain at branch level. Vehicles represent a significant investment, and customers place trust in Auto Pedigree to provide cars that are thoroughly vetted and professionally presented.

Your role ensures:

A. Brand Presentation

A clean, polished vehicle is a powerful marketing tool. Customers often make decisions based on first impressions.

B. Operational Efficiency

Without reliable drivers, critical documents would be delayed, vehicles would not be delivered on time, and branch processes would slow down significantly.

C. Customer Experience

Your professionalism—on the road, during deliveries, and throughout customer interactions—influences customer satisfaction and repeat business.

D. Asset Protection

By spotting issues early (expired licenses, mechanical faults, missing documentation), you help protect company assets and reduce risks.

This role is foundational to the smooth functioning of daily branch activities.

  1. A Day in the Life of a Driver/Cleaner

To provide a clearer picture of what the role entails, here is a full narrative of what a typical workday may look like:

Your day often starts early. After signing in, you begin with a quick briefing from your supervisor on the tasks lined up for the day. These tasks could range from vehicle deliveries, cleaning duties, document collection, or driving to another branch to fetch a vehicle.

Your first task may be to prepare vehicles for customer viewing. You begin by checking the interior—vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, ensuring windows are spotless, and removing any dirt or smudges. Once the interior is done, you wash the exterior, dry it carefully, and inspect it thoroughly. If you spot a minor issue, such as a misplaced mat or a smudge on the dashboard, you correct it immediately.

After vehicle preparation, you might receive a driving assignment. You collect all necessary paperwork, perform a quick pre-trip inspection on the vehicle, and plan your route. While driving, your focus remains on safety—maintaining speed limits, observing road rules, and ensuring the car remains in perfect condition.

Upon arrival at your destination, you may hand over a vehicle to a customer. You greet them warmly, verify paperwork, and ensure they are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle. Your professionalism creates a positive lasting impression.

Back at the branch, you might be tasked with collecting documents from banks or suppliers. You carry out these duties reliably, ensuring nothing is misplaced or delayed.

Throughout the day, you continue supporting the branch with cleaning tasks and operational support. When the branch gets busy, you assist with moving vehicles, tidying up areas, or helping colleagues with their tasks.

By the end of the day, you review your completed assignments, ensure all vehicles are parked properly, and report any issues noted during the day.

This cycle illustrates how diverse, active, and important this role is.
