Universal Healthcare, one of South Africa’s most trusted and innovative integrated healthcare organisations, is proud to introduce a transformative Learnership Programme specifically designed for unemployed youth living with disabilities in the Gauteng region. This initiative reflects Universal Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainable skills development within the healthcare and wellness sectors.

For decades, Universal Healthcare has played a crucial role in advancing quality healthcare access for millions of South Africans. In line with its mission to uplift local communities, Universal Healthcare is offering this learnership opportunity to ensure that talented individuals living with disabilities are given fair access to education, workplace readiness, and long-term employability. This learnership does not merely provide training—it opens the door to a career pathway, fosters professional growth, and enables participants to become part of a dynamic, future-focused organisation dedicated to improving the lives of over 10 million individuals.

Successful candidates will be placed within a suitable Universal Healthcare business unit, where they will gain structured workplace experience aligned with their strengths, personal attributes, and educational background. Learners will work under the guidance of professional mentors who are passionate about empowering young people, cultivating confidence, and ensuring learners can successfully integrate into a professional environment.

Programme Overview

This learnership combines formal theoretical training with practical workplace exposure. It is designed to help learners build a strong foundation in business administration, customer service, communication, professional conduct, and digital literacy. The programme is fully accredited and provides learners with an opportunity to acquire a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) certification while gaining valuable real-world experience.

Through active participation in daily business operations, learners will gradually develop practical competencies such as administrative efficiency, client interaction, problem-solving, and digital communication—skills that are essential in the healthcare and corporate environment.

Universal Healthcare believes in nurturing talent holistically. Therefore, the programme also includes soft-skills development, workplace readiness coaching, personal empowerment sessions, and exposure to key organisational functions. This ensures that each learner exits the programme not only with an accredited qualification, but also with the confidence and ability to pursue meaningful employment opportunities.
