Located in the heart of the Limpopo Province—approximately 60 km from Lydenburg and 40 km from Burgersfort—Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is known for its unwavering commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chargehand or designated nominee.
Minimum Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet the following baseline criteria:
Grade 12 / Standard 10 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
Relevant Trade Test (Electrician)
Valid Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence
TMM Licence “A” Dover Certificate
Advantageous: N2 Certificate in Engineering Studies
Experience Requirements
To be considered, candidates must demonstrate:
Minimum 2 years post-trade experience in a heavy industrial, mining, plant, or TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery) environment
Advantageous: At least 1 year hands-on experience working with earthmoving equipment
Key Responsibilities
As a TMM Artisan (Electrician), you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, availability, and reliability of essential mining equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and inspections on all TMM production fleet equipment
Ensure compliance with Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine’s Code of Practice for TMM operational readiness
Accurately complete work orders, inspections, and technical documentation
Workshop Operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free workshop environment
Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained
Support workshop operations with relevant administrative and technical tasks
Planning & Scheduling
Conduct job planning for efficient execution of work orders
Organize tools, spares, and materials in line with maintenance schedules
Obtain permits, safe work declarations, and ensure compliance with all required MHS Act procedures
Safety Compliance
Perform mini risk assessments and lock-out procedures before commencing work
Maintain strict compliance with OEM specifications, operational policies, and mine safety guidelines
Identify and report unrepairable equipment or safety hazards
Operational Support
Respond immediately to breakdowns to restore equipment availability
Operate and maintain mobile equipment as required
Collaborate with team members to ensure strong communication, teamwork, and smooth workflow
