Exciting Work Integrated Learning Opportunity

Transnet is inviting suitably qualified South African students and recent graduates to apply for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Non-Technical Learner Programme.

This 18-month programme is designed to help participants gain valuable workplace experience, professional development, practical skills and industry exposure while applying their academic knowledge in a real working environment.

Successful candidates will receive opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals, participate in workplace training and develop skills that can improve their career readiness and future employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Selected WIL trainees may be required to:

  • Assist with departmental projects and assigned work-streams.
  • Perform routine operational duties under supervision.
  • Support administrative, documentation and reporting functions.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops and mentorship programmes.
  • Shadow experienced employees to gain practical workplace knowledge.
  • Assist with problem-solving and process improvement activities.
  • Communicate with internal teams, customers and suppliers where required.
  • Provide updates on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Conduct research, collect information and assist with data analysis.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and other documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, ethical standards and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional integrity.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed all theoretical subjects from N4 to N6 in Office Management at a TVET College.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Preference may be given to People with Disabilities.
  • Must not have an existing bursary obligation with another company.
  • Must provide a recent confirmation letter from the educational institution.
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate.
  • Certified copy of academic record.
  • Certified copy of South African ID.
