About the Learnership Opportunity

Momentum Health invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Contact Centre Learner Programme, a structured 12-month learnership designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience within the medical aid and healthcare administration environment.
This learnership leads to a nationally recognised qualification:

Occupational Certificate: Health Care Benefits Advisor (NQF Level 5 – SAQA ID 105030).
The programme offers participants the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure in a professional contact centre environment while developing critical skills required in the health insurance and financial services industries.

The learnership will commence on 01 February 2026 and conclude on 31 January 2027.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of the Contact Centre Learner role is to develop competent, customer-focused professionals who can deliver high-quality service within a medical scheme environment. Learners will receive structured training and on-the-job experience to equip them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to support members, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders.

What Is a Learnership?

A learnership is a work-based learning programme that combines formal education with practical workplace experience. Learners are employed on a fixed-term contract and receive structured training that leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Through this learnership, participants will:

Develop workplace readiness and professionalism
Build a strong foundation for long-term career growth
Improve employability within the financial services and healthcare sectors
Although permanent employment is not guaranteed upon completion, successful learners will be better positioned to access future career opportunities within Momentum Metropolitan and the broader industry.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

South African citizen
Aged between 18 and 30 years
Currently unemployed
In possession of a Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Minimum 40% in Mathematics or 60% in Mathematical Literacy
Minimum 50% in English and one additional South African language


Not currently registered for any other learnership, internship, or tertiary qualification
Must not have completed the same learnership previously


Able to commit to the full duration of the 12-month programme
Able to travel to the workplace in Centurion independently
Willing to participate fully in both theoretical and practical components

Key Responsibilities

During the learnership, successful candidates will be required to:
Participate in classroom-based learning sessions and structured workplace training
Gain an understanding of medical scheme operations and health insurance products
Provide accurate and professional support to clients via various communication channels
Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and compliance standards

Capture and manage information accurately on internal systems
Complete logbooks and assessments in line with SETA requirements
Compile and maintain a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) for assessment purposes
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct at all times
Work collaboratively within a team environment
Prepare for and successfully complete the EISA examination
