The City of Tshwane invites suitably qualified and highly motivated individuals to apply for the Electrical Apprenticeship Programme (TLMA–E–2026). This structured apprenticeship is designed to provide aspiring artisans with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical workplace exposure aligned with national occupational standards.
The programme forms part of the City’s commitment to skills development, youth empowerment, and capacity building within the technical and engineering sectors. Successful applicants will be trained through an accredited learning framework that equips them with the competencies required to thrive in the electrical trade and broader engineering environment.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The apprenticeship offers a combination of institutional learning and on-the-job training, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of qualified professionals. Upon successful completion, learners will be well positioned to pursue artisan certification and employment within the electrical industry.
STIPEND
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R2 792.44 (fixed) for the duration of the apprenticeship.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
A Technical Matric, NCV Level 4, or N2 Certificate with:
Mathematics
Physical Science
Relevant Electrical Trade Theory
A strong interest in pursuing a career as an Electrical Artisan
Commitment, discipline, and willingness to undergo intensive technical training
Ability to meet the physical and practical demands of the apprenticeship programme
